Dear President-elect Trump,
As the next leader of the Free World I plead to you to stop using social media, especially Twitter, as what you are posting is causing a lot of harm to a lot of things that have been propped up for you as the 45th President of the United States. You cannot tweet such things as this:
The F-35 program and cost is out of control. Billions of dollars can and will be saved on military (and other) purchases after January 20th.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 12, 2016
The United States must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 22, 2016
The tweets that you post can cause a lot of damage. When you posted about the F-35 program being too expensive it caused the stock of Lockheed Martin to drop 7% in one day. When you post about expanding our nukes it makes us very uneasily, especially those who lived through the Cold War, that we could be getting closer to Midnight Doomsday. And when you post about your love for Russia and Putin when we have such strained ties with them then we become completely lost in knowing how our allies and enemies are.Vladimir Putin said today about Hillary and Dems: "In my opinion, it is humiliating. One must be able to lose with dignity." So true!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 24, 2016
As I stated at the beginning of this letter you need to remember that you are becoming the leader of the Free World. What you have done as a businessman doesn't completely translate into the political world. There is a lot more wheelin' and dealin' in the political world than just giving your opinion and hoping that people will take your deal. Money isn't the only thing at stake in your deals any more, its people's lives. What you will do for the next four years can either continue to make America the greatest country in the world or be the bane of everyone's existence. The path towards solitude is in your hands and you must choose wisely.
Sincerely,
The People of These United States of America
